“I want to model for Rihanna“ seems to become the new “I want to work with Rihanna (musically)“ of the 2020s. Only months after Bruno Mars tweeted that he would love to face a Fenty Skin campaign, there is another artist who literally auditions publicly to model for a Rihanna brand. British singer/rapper Bree Runway would love to model for SavageX.
Bree Runway is a huge Rihanna fan
The 28-year-old from Hackney, London, tweeted “Rihanna if you’re reading this, put me in the savage x fenty show this year“ Sunday evening (Jan 10) only hours after posting some shots in underwear. The EMI Records signee is a huge Rihanna fan as several of her tweets confirm.
She started praising Rihanna in September 2010 and continued to do so even before signing up to a label. Meanwhile this is not even the first time the newcomer, known for her songs like “ATM“ with Missy Elliott or “Gucci“, voiced her interest in being part of the diverse SavageX show. She already tweeted “the day rihanna puts me in a savage show it’s OVAAAAAA!“ in October 2020.
Bree first met Rihanna at her Fenty Beauty launch party in 2017 where she apparently praised her hair and outfit: “She was like, “Excuse me, your hair, your outfit – everything is lit!“ I didn’t even say anything. I was just like… [speechless]”, she told Standard.co.uk. Hence why Bree still calls that dress (s. below) the “famous “Rihanna loves me“ dress“.
