She is one of Bollywood’s most loved performers and known for her dancing, acting and singing. Nora Fatehi (28) has Moroccan roots and was born and raised in Canada, yet launched her career in Bollywood. She starred in several series and movies and is most known for her song “Dilbar“ out the movie “Satyamev Jayate“. It was the first time a Hindi song received more than 21 million views on YouTube in its first 24 hours.
As usual in Bollywood, there is a lot of dancing in it. Meanwhile, Nora just revealed that Rihanna is one of her dance inspirations. Speaking to “TellyChakkar“ she also mentions Shakira, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez as well as Turkish belly dancer Didem as her inspirations.
Nora Fatehi accused of copying Rihanna’s music videos
“I was always someone who did a lot of research and I never really focused on one genre of dance or one style of music or language or culture. I always wanted to have a variety and diversity in my learning. So, I was heavily inspired by them and I would always lock myself in a room. My mom was busy doing something, talking to her friend on the phone or cleaning and I just moved in front of the mirror and see certain movements they would do and I would try and repeat it over and over again until I got it.“
The interview appears only months after netizens accused Nora of copying Rihanna’s and Beyoncé’s music videos. Some people commented that the music video to her single “Pachtaoge“ has similarities to Rihanna’s visuals for “Umbrella“ and “Too Good“. The dark themed video was directed by Arvindr Khaira. At least we now know that Nora might be a Rihanna fan.
